Three Things You Must Have
Valid Biometric Passport
Your passport must be valid and biometric. Your ETIAS will be linked to this specific passport number. If you later get a new passport, you must apply for a new ETIAS.
Email Address
A valid email address where your ETIAS authorisation — or any requests for additional information — will be sent. Check it regularly after applying.
Credit or Debit Card
To pay the €20 application fee. The fee is non-refundable. Travelers under 18 and over 70 are exempt from the fee.
Information You Will Provide
The ETIAS form is straightforward. Here is everything you will be asked to provide, organized by section.
- ✓Full legal name (as it appears in your passport)
- ✓Date and place of birth
- ✓Gender
- ✓Current nationality
- ✓All other nationalities held (if any)
- ✓Passport number
- ✓Passport expiry date
- ✓Country that issued the passport
Your ETIAS will be linked to this passport. If you travel with a different passport, you will need a new ETIAS.

- ✓Home address (street, city, country)
- ✓Phone number (optional)
- ✓First ETIAS country you plan to enter
- ✓Approximate travel dates (if known)
- ✓Purpose of travel (tourism, business, transit, medical)
- ✓Highest level of education completed
- ✓Current occupation or employment status
You will be asked a series of yes/no questions related to:
- ✓Travel history to certain countries
- ✓Any criminal convictions
- ✓Certain health conditions
Always answer honestly. Providing false information may result in your ETIAS being refused and could have legal consequences.
The Application Process
1. Complete the Form
Fill in the online application form with your personal details and passport information. Takes approximately 10–15 minutes.
2. Pay the Fee
Pay the €20 fee by credit or debit card. Fee is non-refundable. Free for applicants under 18 or over 70.
3. Wait for Approval
95% of applications are approved within minutes. Some may take up to 4 days, or up to four weeks in complex cases.
4. Travel
Your ETIAS is stored electronically and linked to your passport. No printout needed — just travel.
⚠ Beware of third-party websites charging excessive fees for the same application. The official ETIAS fee is only €20. Any site charging significantly more is not the official system.
⚠ New passport = new ETIAS. If you renew your passport or get a new one after obtaining ETIAS, you must apply again — your authorisation is tied to the old passport number.
